Training Division
The Valley Park Fire Protection District Training Division is responsible for ensuring all personnel are adequately trained to provide the best possible service to the communities we serve. The goal of the training division is to provide the necessary training to the department’s personnel, so they are able to safely mitigate any situation they respond to. The department training includes instruction in fire suppression, hazardous materials, specialized rescue and emergency medical care.
An annual needs assessment of our personnel along with a risk assessment of the communities we protect, determines what training will be conducted during the upcoming year. We also apply the recommendations and requirements from regulatory and standards agencies like the Office of the State Fire Marshal, National Fire Protection Association, Insurance Services Organization, Missouri Department of Public Health, and our EMS System in the development of our training.
